Salon fundraiser to benefit local youth

November 04, 2009

Not long ago, Trevor Coblentz was a healthy toddler.

A tick bite, however, changed all of that.

The Cascade 3-year-old developed Rocky Mountain spotted fever, then spinal meningitis and spent May to July as a patient at Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center. He is the son of Terry and Michelle Coblentz.

Trevor is fighting a brain injury as a result of the infections, Michelle Coblentz said. The staff at A Cut Above Hair Design Inc. in Boonsboro wants to help Trevor and his family by purchasing needed medical equipment and care through a fundraiser on Sunday, Nov. 15. The salon will be providing haircut services, with 100 percent of the proceeds, including tips, to be donated to this cause.

To schedule an appointment, call 301-432-6502.

If you cannot join them on the 15th, but would like to make a donation, stop by or mail a donation to:
