CUMMING, Ga. -- Carol May Anderson, 50, of Cumming, passed away Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m. at Christ Fellowship Church, Dawsonville, Ga., with Pastor Ricky Stepp officiating, followed by interment in Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends Monday, Nov. 2, from 3 to 9 p.m. at Byars Funeral Home.

Carol was a member of Christ Fellowship Church and had a deep love for animals and gardening. She was involved in the rescue of many animals, which was her passion. Carol also worked with Humane Hearts League, which is an organization that takes pets to visit the elderly in nursing homes. Horseback riding, planting flowers, and visits to the beach and ocean also meant a lot to her. Her continued faith in the Lord was a constant with her, even through her health issues.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Josephine Gerber.


She is survived by her husband, Jeff Anderson of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Carla and Stan Rutledge of Cumming; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Jesse Witmer of Hagerstown, Md.; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Jo and Jim Kalbfleisch of Williamsport, Md.; brother and sister-in-law, Rich and Virginia Gerber of Oklahoma; and brother, Ron Gerber of Maryland.
