Artists' work sought for exhibit

The Washington County Arts Council, Inc. invites all area artists to submit their work for a juried art exhibit, "The Eye and The Touch: The Best Local Art of 2009." Local artists working in any medium are welcome.

All work must be submitted by Nov. 14. The exhibit runs Dec. 3, to Jan. 2.

An opening reception will be held Saturday, Dec. 5.

There is a $10 entry fee for each work submitted. Artists will be notified of selection by Nov. 30. Works should be delivered to the WCAC Gallery, 14 W. Washington St., Hagerstown, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, or 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.

Children's theater celebrates 14 years

FREDERICK, Md. - Way Off Broadway Children's Theatre celebrates its 14th anniversary as the only family lunch theatre in the Frederick area.

Lunch servers are characters from the show, so children get to meet Cinderella, Snow White or another character before seeing them singing and dancing on stage.

Children's Theatre performances are every Saturday afternoons and the second and fourth Sunday of each month. Select weekday performances are added throughout the run of each show for school groups as well. All tickets for the 2010 season are $15.
