BLACKSBURG, Va. - Lindsay Grove of Hagerstown was recently admitted to the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine at Virginia Tech.

The 95 new students in the class of 2013 were issued white laboratory coats and administered the "Veterinary Student's Oath" during a white coat entrance ceremony.

Grove received a bachelor of science degree from Bridgewater College this year.

LANSING, Mich. - Tom Britner of Williamsport recently graduated with a juris doctorate degree from Thomas M. Cooley School of Law.

He is working on his master's of laws in tax law at Cooley. He plans to finish in spring 2010.

Tom is president of Delta Theta Phi, an international law fraternity, vice-president of the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy, and vice-president of the Thomas M. Cooley Republican Club.

Additionally, Tom was a recipient of the Thomas M. Cooley Student Leadership Award, and served as an intern at the Sixty-Plus Elder Law Clinic.

Tom is a 2004 graduate of Frostburg University and a 2000 graduate of Williamsport High School.

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The following area students received degrees from Elizabethtown College in August:

Natalie Musser of Hagerstown graduated with a master of science degree in occupational therapy.

Autumn Atherton of Chambersburg, Pa., graduated with a bachelor of science degree in health and occupation.

Maryellen Fairchild of Chambersburg graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor of music degree in music therapy.

WINTER PARK, Fla. - Traber Lee Fischer of Warfordsburg, Pa., received a bachelor of computer science degree in game development June 5 from Full Sail University in Winter Park.

Traber is a 2007 graduate of Southern Fulton High School.

He is the son of Leda Louise Lashley Fischer and Daniel McKinley Fischer. His grandparents are Lee and Alda Lashley and the late Homer and Helen Fischer.

Amanda England of Hagerstown will be inducted into the Pi Theta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Hagerstown Community College Nov. 8.

Amanda is majoring in education/teaching.

She is the daughter of Crystal and Gregg Wolford and David England.
