Support for loved ones of high-risk individuals

FREDERICK, Md. -Families Plus will present a four-week group for people dealing with family members who have addictive or high-risk behavior. Dr. Rose Gamblin will facilitate. Course in women's anger

FREDERICK, Md. -Families Plus will present a multi-week group to explore the causes of anger in women and ways of avoiding negative outcomes. The group will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Nov. 3, 10, 17, 24 at Families Plus, 35 E. Church St. in Frederick. Registration is required and group size is limited. Call 301-694-9002.

Childbirth, parenting classes for pregnant teens

Families Plus provides a free, four-week series of childbirth and parenting classes for pregnant teenagers and their partners. Class will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Nov. 4 and 18, Monday, Nov. 23, and Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Family Partnership, 8420 Gas House Pike, Suite EE, Frederick.


The classes are co-sponsored by the Family Partnership, Families Plus and the Frederick County Health Department. Call 301-600-3326 to register.

Suicide prevention training

Youth M.O.V.E. Washington County and Otterbein United Methodist Church will offer safeTALK training for those who want to help prevent suicide including, clergy, volunteers, parents, teachers, law enforcement and others.

Training is from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, with registration at 12:30 p.m. at Otterbein United Methodist Church, 108 E. Franklin St., Hagerstown. Seating is limited. For reservations, call Melissa Rice at 301-791-7072.

Program about budgeting

Teresa Spruill, owner of Spruill Money Management and Organization Services, will discuss how to gain control of your finances by using a budget at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, at Central Library, 100 S. Grief and loss program

EMMITSBURG, Md. -Families Plus will present a program about grief and loss through the holidays from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at Emmitsburg Elementary School, 300 Seton Ave. Dinner will be at 6 p.m. followed by the program at 6:30 p.m. To register or for information, call 301-694-9002.

Joy-el ministries available to students

In south central Pennsylvania and western Maryland, Joy El Ministries' Released Time Bible Program (or RT) provides public school children with moral and character development. In Released Time, children who sign up for the program are released from their public school classrooms for one hour a week and are transported by volunteers to an off-campus facility where they receive spiritual instruction.
