Brook Lane



Three psychiatrists recently joined the staff at Brook Lane.

o Dr. Pubudini Muthukuda joined the staff in July as a child and adolescent psychiatrist in July.

Muthukuda works with young people in the hospital and in outpatient services.

Muthukuda received her medical degree from North Colombo Medical College, University of Kelaniya, in Ragama, Sri Lanka, and completed her three-year residency program at Bergen Regional Medical Center in Paramus, N.J. She finished her fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center in New York.

o Dr. Khendra Peay joined the staff in August as a child and adolescent psychiatrist.

Peay works in the hospital and outpatient services area for children and adolescents.

Peay is a graduate of the Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia School of Medicine, in Richmond, Va. She completed her psychiatry residency, child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship, and autism and developmental disabilities fellowship at Indiana University in Indianapolis.

o Dr. Angela Dumitrache joined the staff in September as a child and adolescent psychiatrist.

Dumitrache works at Brook Lane's Meadowbrook location in Frederick, Md., providing outpatient treatment.

Dumitrache holds board certifications in general psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, and child and adolescent psychiatry. She received her medical degree from Carol Davila University in Bucharest, Romania. She completed her psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship at The State University of New York Health Science Center in New York, and completed her addiction psychiatry fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York.

Bowers Advisor Group LLC



Jeff Bowers, CFP, of Bowers Advisory Group LLC, recently attended the semiannual conference of the Ed Slot Elite IRA Advisor Group in Dallas.

Topics during the conference, which was held Oct. 1 to 3, were centered on the opportunities in Roth Conversions in 2010.

Bowers specializes in helping those within five years of retirement or those already retired make smart financial decisions.

SCORE



SCORE Chapter 539 of Hagerstown recently elected and installed its officers for the 2009-10 operating year.

Robert M. Jones was elected chairman, Thomas Y. Hagan was elected vice chairman and Peter F. Bryan was elected secretary/treasurer.

Other members of the chapter's board of directors are William K. Beard, Martha Mattare, David Peters, Robert A. Poor and Richard N. Walton.

O'Neill Physical Therapy Services



Brenda DeSutter-Gue, a physical therapist at O'Neill Physical Therapy Services in Hagerstown, recently attended a seminar on falls among the elderly.

The course focused on methods of addressing, treating and preventing falls among the elderly. Also covered was testing balance to predict if an elderly person is at risk of falling.

Washington County Hospital



Jennifer Fogle and Jill Carbaugh, registered nurses in Washington County Hospital's Outpatient IV Infusion Center, completed a course in chemotherapy administration.

Fogle has been employed by the hospital for 2 1/2 years, and Carbaugh is a new employee of the hospital.

Callas Contractors



Ken Binkley and Larry Suddueth were named safest employee winners for September at Callas Contractors. 

Binkley has been employed by Callas Contractors since July 1977 and never sustained a serious injury. Suddueth has been employed by Callas since September 2007 and has not had an accident.

Roxbury Correctional Institution



Lt. Howard Moore of the 3 to 11 shift has been named Supervisor of the Quarter at Roxbury Correctional Institution.

Moore was selected as for his dependability in carrying out the responsibilities as the adviser to the IVOR group and his involvement with the LIFERS group. He also has volunteered extra duty hours, even while on personal leave.

Moore has been employed by the state since 1984.

The following employees of Menno Haven celebrated milestone anniversaries in October.

o One year -- Edward Bingaman, Stacey Carbaugh, Susan Fahnestock, Victoria Jones, Kelly Kann and Holly Plasterer

o Five years -- Amber Strock and Bonnie Zinn

o Ten years -- Hartini Ali, Bonita Brown and Linda Fickes

Ocker & Associates



FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. -- Jan Ensminger, EA; Mark Green, CPA; Michael Ocker, CPA; and Tina Thiessen, CPA, of Ocker & Associates PC, recently attended a two-day seminar in Camp Hill, Pa., sponsored by the Pennsylvania Society of Public Accountants.

Topics covered included a review of new business tax laws, IRS rulings and notices, business succession planning, and tax planning ideas that will affect corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies.

Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA



GREENCASTLE, Pa. -- Sharon Gunder and James Stoneham of the Greencastle office of Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA recently were recognized as agents of the month for September.

Gunder was recognized in the three years and over category, and Stoneham was recognized in the three years and under category.

The decision was based on the number of listings taken, sales made, closed sales, attendance at Realtor functions and continuing education classes completed.
