LONGS, S.C. - Gail Franklin Moreland, 65, of Longs, S.C., formerly of Romney, W.Va., and Hagerstown, Md., went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009.

Born on Dec. 4, 1943, in Levels, W.Va., he was the son of the late Chester T. and Della C. Lewis Moreland.

He was employed by Labors Local 616, Cumberland, Md., for 17 years; the State of Maryland State Highway Administration (Highway Tech) for 20 years; and retired and moved to South Carolina in 2005.


Mr. Moreland is survived by his spouse of 47 years, Janet L. Haines Moreland of Longs; one son, Timothy Moreland of Winchester, Va.; two daughters, Tammy Kemmerer and spouse, Mike, of Williamsport, Md., and Lori Toth of Falling Waters, W.Va.; one brother, Adrian Moreland and spouse, Joan, of Bloomery, W.Va.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Hetzel Lewis and Wallace Moreland; and one grandson, Thomas Grams.

No services are scheduled at the present time.

Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the family.
