Police seek info on Pa. prowling incident



MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A Montgomery Church Road resident was in her bathroom Saturday night when she heard a prowler at the bathroom window, according to a release from Pennsylvania State Police.

After hearing a noise at the window shortly before midnight Saturday, the woman looked out and saw a man, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, running across her deck, police said.

She found a patio chair had been moved in front of the bathroom window, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Pennsylvania State Police at 717-264-5161.




Police release more info in three-county chase



FREDERICK, Md. -- The two men charged after a high-speed chase Saturday that involved three counties have been further identified.

The driver was John Leslie Kemp, 29, of 4064 Boteler Road in Mount Airy, Md., according to Maryland State Police and Frederick County District Court records.

The passenger was Larnell Torrence Minor, 33, of 7721 Scotland Drive in Rockville, Md., according to police and court records.

The chase began around 1:50 a.m. Saturday on Interstate 70 near New Market, Md., after a traffic stop, continued through Howard County, Md., and ended on Md. 97 at Streaker Road in Carroll County, Md., police said.

During the chase, the suspect's Pontiac struck two police cruisers and reached speeds up to 110 mph, police said.

Charges against Kemp include unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, reckless endangerment, drug possession and numerous traffic violations, court records state.

Charges against Minor included possession of marijuana and unlawful taking of a motor vehicle, court records state.

Kemp was being held Tuesday at the Frederick County Adult Detention Center on a $200,000 bond and Minor was being held on a $40,000 bond.




St. Thomas man charged with DUI following crash



CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A 35-year-old St. Thomas, Pa., man was charged with driving under the influence following a Sunday morning accident in which he suffered injuries , Pennsylvania State Police said in a news release.

David Joseph Hughes II was driving a 1993 Saab that spun around and hit a utility pole in the 400 block of Kriner Road at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, police said.

Hughes, who was not wearing a seat belt, was partially thrown from the car. He freed himself and ran toward Country Road, police said.

Troopers found him 35 minutes later in a residential yard.

Hughes was taken to Chambersburg Hospital and later to Hershey (Pa.) Medical Center for his injuries.

Police said Hughes was driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana.

o Magazines were reported stolen in the 300 block of East Washington Street.

o An assault was reported in the 1100 block of South Potomac Street.

o A digital camera was reported stolen in the 100 block of Washington Street.

Friday, Oct. 23

o A stabbing was reported at Nottingham Road.

o A handicapped placard was reported stolen in the 300 block of Mitchell Avenue.

Saturday, Oct. 24

o A motor vehicle tag was reported stolen in the 100 block of John Street.

o An assault was reported in the 300 block of North Locust Street.

o A window was reported damaged in the 300 block of South Mulberry Street.

o Graffiti was reported in the 1000 block of Fairview Road.

Sunday, Oct. 25

o Cough syrup was reported stolen in the unit block of Cannon Avenue.

o Destruction of property and theft of a cell phone were reported in the 400 block of Washington Street.

o A Maryland license plate was reported stolen in the 700 block of Dual Highway.

o A stabbing was reported in the 100 block of Bethel Street.

o A bicycle was reported stolen in the 100 block of South Prospect Street.

Monday, Oct. 26

o A windshield in the unit block of East North Avenue was reported damaged.

o Copper wire was reported stolen from the unit block of North Locust Street.

o A mailbox was reported stolen from the 400 block of West Antietam Street.

o A tree stand was reported stolen from the 500 block of North Locust Street.

o Jewelry was reported stolen from an apartment in the 300 block of South Locust Street on Oct. 26. DVDs were reported stolen from the same apartment building on Oct. 27.

Domestic violence:

Oct. 17

o First- and second-degree assaults and reckless endangerment were reported in the 200 block of North Potomac Street. One arrest was made.

Oct. 21

o A second-degree assault was reported in the 100 block of Broadway.
