Pasley Communications

Frank McCaffrey recently joined Pasley Communications, a graphics, writing and editing firm in Hagerstown, as president and CEO.

McCaffrey is a 15-year media veteran, working as a writer, reporter, producer, graphic designer, news director, anchor and photographer.

McCaffrey was a prime-time producer for the Fox News Channel and worked for two CBS affiliates.

McCaffrey plans to unveil an updated company Web site and work on developing new business relationships.

Glory Energy Solutions LLC

BOONSBORO - Timothy D. Jones of Glory Energy Solutions LLC has accepted the position of chairman of Hagerstown Community College's Curriculum Advisory Committee for Energy Programs.

The committee will work with the community college staff in the creation, development and delivery of curricula that will serve the next generation of employees engaged in various energy-related services and industries.


Glory Energy Solutions LLC provides energy auditing, energy consulting, renewable energy solutions and related contracting services to help people save energy and make energy.

JLG Industries

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Bob Nelson recently was appointed as vice president of field sales and service for North America at JLG Industries Inc.

Nelson will lead the North American regions in the development and implementation of sales, market development and field support initiatives for JLG.

Nelson began his career with JLG in 2003 following the acquisition of OmniQuip Corp., where he was a regional sales manager. He was promoted in 2007 to regional vice president, where he was responsible for all field sales and service personnel in the mid-Atlantic region.

Nelson received his bachelor's degree from Purdue University.

Center for Orthopedic Excellence

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Dr. Russell DeGroote, a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, recently joined the staff at the Center for Orthopedic Excellence.

DeGroote has more than 10 years of experience as an orthopedic surgeon, most recently working in private practice in Pueblo, Colo.

DeGroote earned his medical degree and completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Calgary in Canada.

DeGroote is a member of the medical staffs of West Virginia University Hospital-East at City Hospital in Martinsburg and Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson, W.Va.

Family Heritage Trust Co.

FREDERICK, Md. - Three new directors recently were appointed to the board of directors of the Family Heritage Trust Co.

o Dr. Byron K. Byrd has practiced general dentistry in Hagerstown since 1975. In addition to his practice, Byrd has been active in developing schools, day care and dental centers in several countries in Central America.

o The Rev. Dr. D. Stuart Dunnan is the headmaster of Saint James School. Dunnan has served as headmaster since 1992 and is a trustee of Drew University, St. Peter's by the Sea Episcopal Church and the Baldwin Foundation.

o Paula Jagemann is president of JAG Associates LLC and the founder and former director of eCommerce Industries Inc. She has played a principal role in the development of several e-commerce companies and has served as a former executive at UUNET and on numerous community boards, including the Frederick Innovative Technology Center, Frederick Memorial Healthcare Systems and Maryland TEDCO.

Roxbury Correctional Institution

Officers Daniel Conner and Bobbi Keller of the 7-3 shift were named Employees of the Month for October at Roxbury Correctional Institution.

Conner assisted a nurse in performing CPR on an inmate and continued CPR during the transport to the dispensary until EMS arrived at the institution.

Keller observed an unresponsive inmate and called for assistance immediately. Her alertness and quick actions possibly saved the inmate's life.

Conner has been employed by the State of Maryland since 2005 and Keller has been employed by the state since 2006.

Albright Crumbacker Moul & Itell

Adam C. Cosden of Albright Crumbacker Moul & Itell LLC CPAs recently was promoted to in-charge accountant.

Cosden, a Hagerstown resident, served an internship with the firm in 2006. He became a full-time staff accountant in January 2007 after obtaining his bachelor's degree in accounting.

Grosh's Lawn Service

CLEAR SPRING - Thomas Allen Grosh of Grosh's Lawn Service is one of 12 finalists for the 2010 Landscaper of the Year award by Total Landscape Care magazine.

The finalists will be recognized at a banquet during an all-expenses paid, four-day cruise to the Bahamas in November, where the Landscaper of the Year will be named.

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Paul Gunder, Joan Sidoli and Karen Stewart of the Waynesboro office of Jack Gaughen Realtor ERA were recognized for excellent performance in September.

The decision was based on the number of new listings, sales and referrals; attendance at real estate meetings and workshops; and customer satisfaction reports.
