Historian to speak about Smith house in Mercersburg

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - The annual meeting of the Conococheague Institute Museum and Library will be Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Welsh Barrens Visitor Center at Rock Hill Farm, 12995 Bain Road, Mercersburg.

The meeting is open to the public as well as the membership.

Calvin Bricker, board member and local historian, will be the speaker. His topic will be the history of the William Smith house in Mercersburg.

The evening will begin with a covered dish dinner followed by Bricker's presentation and a brief business meeting.

A silent auction will conclude the evening.

Those attending are asked to bring a hot or cold covered dish to share.

The group is also asking for donations of items for the silent auction. Auction items should be brought to the Institute prior to the meeting date.

The proceeds from the silent auction help fund the continuing programs at the Rock Hill Farm.
