Rockets upset Palmyra for first win of season

MERCERSBURG, Pa. -- Tyson Keith scored two touchdowns on rushes of 45 and 50 yards as James Buchanan defeated Palmyra 19-6 on Friday night for its first victory of the season.

Brian Hull scored on a 3-yard pass from Kace Worrell, Zach Hamilton had three fumble recoveries and Dale Nesbitt forced a fumble that was recovered by Levi Powell for the Rockets (1-6).

Palmyra fell to 4-4.

Northern York 21, Greencastle-Antrim 0

DILLSBURG, Pa. -- Greencastle-Antrim turned the ball over five times and suffered its second defeat of the week, after losing 27-24 to Susquehanna Township on Monday.

Joe Tuschak scored on a 6-yard run and completed a 14-yard TD pass to Dan Blemler as Northern York (7-1) built a 14-0 halftime lead. Adam Geiger scored the final touchdown on a 4-yard run in the third quarter.

The Blue Devils, undefeated a week ago, fell to 6-2.

HANCOCK -- Jessica Dice scored the game-winner on a penalty kick for Clear Spring.

McConnellsburg 3, Mercersburg 0

MERCERSBURG, Pa. -- A'leese Dickerson had 20 kills, four aces and six digs to lead McConnellsburg in a 25-11, 25-19, 25-14 sweep of Mercersburg Academy.

Lisa Deshong had 29 assists and 10 digs, Emily Watkins had 13 digs, 10 aces and four kills and Valerie Green had 17 digs for the Spartans (12-4).

Taylor Riley had eight digs, five kills and three aces, Sarah Kolanowski had three digs, four kills and four service points and Brookke Mahaffey had seven assists for the Blue Storm (3-8).

FISHERTOWN, Pa. -- Chestnut Ridge defeated McConnellsburg 25-12, 25-17, 21-25, 26-24 on Thursday.
