Grace blanks Heritage in MDCC semis

Luke Bunting had two goals and an assist, while Caleb Serafini also scored twice as Grace Academy shut out Heritage Academy 5-0 Thursday in a Mason Dixon Christian Conference tournament semifinal game.

Lewis Rudy had a goal, Spencer Horst recorded a pair of assists and Zack Morgan and Camryn Steward each had an assist for Grace (19-1). Kenny Frederickson recorded the shutout with 10 saves.

Berkeley Springs 3, Keyser 1

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. -- Zach Wise scored three goals to lead Berkeley Springs over Keyser in the Class AA/A Region II Section 2 final.

Mason Quarentillo had two assists and Zane Mokhiber made six saves for the Indians (9-7-4), who will play in the Region II championship next Thursday at 5:30 p.m. at Martinsburg against an opponent to be determined.

Mercersburg Academy 2, Chambersburg 1

MERCERSBURG, Pa. -- Joey Roberts scored the game-winner to lead Mercersburg past Chambersburg.

Jake Shorr had a goal for the Blue Storm (7-5-1).

Greencastle-Antrim 2, Milton Hershey 0

HERSHEY, Pa. -- Kevin Piper and Jesse Herman both scored as Greencastle shut out Milton Hershey.

The Blue Devils outshot Milton Hershey, 14-2.

HANCOCK -- Theresa Barton scored a hat trick to lead St. Maria Goretti past Hancock.

Lauree Lorensen and Annie Cochran each had an assist for the Gaels (4-9-2).

Chelsea Stigile and Tiffany Younker both scored and Chandra Younker had 13 saves for the Panthers (2-7-1).

Catoctin 3, Boonsboro 2

THURMONT, Md. -- Amber Smith and Abby Duncan each scored a goal for Boonsboro in an MVAL Antietam loss to Catoctin.

Kara Nettleton and Erin Eslick each had an assist and Becky Smith had six saves for the Warriors (6-7).

Smithsburg 3, Manchester Valley 0

SMITHSBURG -- Taylor Belella had 29 assists and 10 service points for Smithsburg, which stayed unbeaten with a 25-8, 25-4, 25-3 rout of Manchester Valley.

Sara Rishell recorded 14 kills for the Leopards (13-0), while Kaylee Gardenhour had 13 service points and Colleen Black had eight kills.

Thomas Johnson 3, Clear Spring 2

FREDERICK, Md. -- Lindsay Lacy had 21 kills as Clear Spring lost to Thomas Johnson, 25-20, 15-25, 25-20, 17-25, 15-7.

Lily Pinkham had 18 kills and five blocks, Megan Micco had 39 assists and 14 service points and Breanne Purdham had 29 digs for the Blazers (9-3).

FSK 3, North Hagerstown 1

UNION BRIDGE, Md. -- Akilah McCall had 14 kills and Megan Plume added 42 assists for North Hagerstown, which suffered a 25-18, 29-31, 25-17, 25-18 loss to Francis Scott Key.

Sam Roberts had 18 digs and Autumn Fisher tallied 12 kills for the Hubs (10-3).

Winters Mill 3, Boonsboro 2

WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Rebecca Demers had 32 assists, 11 digs and three aces for Boonsboro in the 25-21, 19-25, 23-25, 25-16, 17-15 loss to Winters Mill.

Alison Griffith had 12 kills, 24 digs and two aces, Megan Long had 12 kills and nine digs, Macy Fuscsick had 17 digs, Tiffany Rohrer had nine digs and Jessica Mazelon had five kills and three aces for the Warriors (6-7).

Williamsport 3, Westminster 2

WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Trisha Leigh paced Williamsport with 26 digs, 17 service points and seven kills as the Wildcats edged Westminster, 22-25, 25-16, 24-26, 26-24, 15-6.

Sam Kelly had 14 digs and 11 kills, while Paige Kitchen added 27 assists, Ariah Giles had 11 kills and seven blocks and Allison Gulnac recorded six blocks for Williamsport (5-9).

Urbana 3, South Hagerstown 0

Megan Vance had 24 assists and Rebecca Pearl added seven kills for South Hagerstown, which was swept by Urbana 25-11, 31-29, 25-22.

Morgan McCoy added eight service points and five kills, Kara Henson tallied seven service points and Emma Stahl had five kills for the Rebels (7-6).

Waynesboro 3, Northern 0

DILLSBURG, Pa. -- Marlee Beckner had 13 digs as Waynesboro swept Northern, 25-22, 25-17, 25-12.

Dani Miller had eight kills and Amber Martz had five blocks for the Maidens (5-11).

GREENCASTLE, Pa. -- Kelsey Gearhart had 14 service points, five aces and four kills to lead Greencastle in a 25-14, 25-18, 25-21 sweep of James Buchanan.

Katy Bobbitt had 13 service points and three aces, Nakita Gearhart had six service points and 12 kills, Erin Garns had 23 service points, seven aces, 31 assists and two kills and Sammi Rudy had nine kills and eight service points for the Blue Devils (16-0).

SHENANDOAH JUNCTION, W.Va. -- Emily Funkhouser had 12 kills and six aces to lead Musselman in a 27-25, 25-16, 25-14 sweep of Jefferson.

Taylor Allen had 11 kills, Kortney Jenkins had six aces and seven kills, Taylor Oates had 31 assists and Sammy Deter had 14 digs for the Applemen (11-2).
