Helping of Tater Salad

In case you haven't heard, Texas comedian Ron White is performing The Maryland Theatre on Saturday. Don't bother scrapping the dough for tickets - the show sold out. The Herald-Mail tried to reach out to White for an interview, but we didn't hear back.

Shedding some light on 'Doubt'

The stage play "Doubt: A Parable" debuts on the Old Opera House stage Friday, Oct. 24, in Charles Town, W.Va. See story.

Music at Maryland Theatre

It's not Halloween yet, but you can Hallo-Wind Down on Friday, Oct. 23, at The Maryland Theatre. Local band Staff Infection performs, plus activities for kiddies. Kids 12 and younger get in free.


Rosin up that bow

Seems Charlie Daniels likes the Tri-State area. The Charlie Daniels Band makes its second appearance in less than two months in the area by performing Saturday night at Hager Hall Conference & Event Center, 901 Dual Highway, Hagerstown. Doors open at 6 p.m. Last we checked, tickets were still available via Go to for more information.

Hear the boys sing

The Vienna Boys Choir performs at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, in Shepherdstown, W.Va., as part of the Shepherd Friends of Music concert series.

Music for a grand space

Hagerstown Choral Arts opens its 17th season with hymns, psalms and spirituals Saturday, Oct. 24, at Trinity Lutheran Church.

'The Civil Side of Civil Wars'

Tied to the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts Civil War exhibit, the Museum Consort will present a program at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, of Civil War-era music, including "Battle Hymn of the Republic. The museum is at City Park, Hagerstown.

I ain't scared of no ghosts

North Hagerstown High School's Key Club hosts a UNICEF haunted house at the high school on Friday. Activities for the kiddies; frights for older family members.
