Wilfred Charles (Will) Jackson, 81, of Hagerstown, Md., died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at his home.

Born Feb. 28, 1928, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late John Edmond and Nellie Viola Shoemaker Jackson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy E. (Dottie) Jackson, on April 10, 1995.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard and the U. S. Air Force. He retired from Fairchild Aircraft.

He is survived by one brother, Silas Jackson of Boonsboro, Md.; two goddaughters, Kayla E. Mason and Sarah M. Mason, both of Hagerstown; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Viola M. Davis; and two brothers, John C. Jackson and Edmond L. Jackson.


Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, with the Rev. Ron Mollow officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park, Hagerstown. Graveside military honors will be conducted by AMVETS Post 10 and the Marine Corps League.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
