Marshall Street students bounce into fall

October 22, 2009

About 75 children participated Thursday in the inaugural Fall Festival at Marshall Street School.

Stephanie Meredith, a physical education instructor at the school, said the event was created so students could celebrate the season.

Students participated in several activities, including scarecrow stuffing and working their way through a hay maze.

Many Individuals Helping Individuals, an organization that partners with government bodies to make parks accessible to people of all abilities, donated $3,800 to purchase a new inflatable bounce for the school, which provides an education to children with special needs.

Meredith said the children use the inflatable bounce as an alternative way to exercise.
