SHARPSBURG -- An 81-year-old woman who was a passenger in a car involved in a fatal accident Sunday on Sharpsburg Pike was being treated Tuesday at Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, a spokesman there said.
Patsy Miller of Boonsboro was in fair condition Tuesday morning, the spokesman said.
Miller was injured after a 1992 Buick LeSabre driven by John Robert Miller ran off the right side of the road near 5604 Sharpsburg Pike and struck a mailbox and drainage ditch, according to Maryland State Police.
The vehicle went airborne and struck a monument before overturning into a stone wall and coming to rest on its roof, police said.
John Robert Miller, 86, of Bakersville Road, Boonsboro, was pronounced dead Sunday at Washington County Hospital.
The accident occurred south of the Antietam National Battlefield visitors center at about 11:20 a.m., a Washington County 911 dispatcher said.
