Two drivers injured in crash on Md. 180

FREDERICK, Md. -- Both drivers in a two-vehicle collision on Md. 180 at U.S. 340 early Tuesday afternoon were flown to R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore for treatment of injuries, Maryland State Police said in a news release.

The accident occurred at about 12:20 p.m., when a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling west on Md. 180 over the bridge crossing U.S. 340 crossed the center line and collided with a 2009 Ford Focus, the release said.

The driver of the Trailblazer was identified as Tracey Lamar Andrews, 41, of Frederick. Andrews and the driver of the Focus, John Thomas Sparks, 28, of Cumberland, Md., were flown from the scene by Maryland State Police Medevac helicopter, the release said.

Neither driver's injuries appeared to be life-threatening, police said. There were no passengers in either vehicle, according to the release.

The conditions of the drivers could not be obtained Tuesday night.

Md. 180 was closed for about two hours after the accident, police said.
