SAINT JAMES - Twenty-four students from Saint James School have earned national academic honors.
National Merit Scholarship Program
Sixth-former Robert Brooks is a national semifinalist in the 55th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
He is one of approximately 16,000 students vying for one of the 8,200 Merit Scholarship Awards.
In addition, sixth form classmates Zach Clouse, Will Howard, Ian Lukens and Samantha Simmons were honored as National Merit Commended Scholars. All placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who took the 2008 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.
National Achievement Scholarship Program
Sixth-former Tierra Jones is a national semifinalist in the 46th annual National Achievement Scholarship Program. She is one of 1,600 black American high school seniors vying for one of the 700 National Achievement Scholarships. More than 160,000 high school students competed in the program when they took the 2008 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Sixth-former Anthony Douglas received a letter of participation.
