HAGERSTOWN - Mabel Irene Martin, 86, of 12349 Huyett Lane, Hagerstown, Md., passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009, at the Mennonite Fellowship Home in Hagerstown.
Born May 24, 1923, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Amos T. and Rhoda M. Shank Showalter.
Mabel was a homemaker and a member of Pinesburg Mennonite Church in Williamsport, Md.
She was preceded in death by her husband, D. Richard Martin, in 2006.
She is survived by a daughter, Isabel J. Eby and her husband, Ronald, of Hagerstown; daughter Rosalie E. Eby and her husband, Leonard, of Mercersburg, Pa.; a son, Ronald L. Martin and his wife, Darlene, of Palm, Pa.; a son, Richard Martin Jr. and his wife, Janet, of Chambersburg, Pa.; and a son, Chester E. Martin, at home. Mabel is also survived by two brothers, Adin Showalter of Greencastle, Pa., and Glenn Showalter of Chambersburg; 18 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren.
