McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. -- Pennsylvania State Police are seeking the driver of a vehicle that was rear-ended Thursday afternoon at a stop sign at the intersection of Church and Pitt streets in Fulton County, Pa., according to a state police press release

The crash happened about 3:45 p.m. when a 16-year-old driver attempted to stop at a stop sign, but hydroplaned due to the wet weather and rear-ended a black Chevrolet S10 that was stopped at the stop sign, troopers said. The driver of the Chevrolet stopped to see if the 16-year-old driver was all right, then left the scene, troopers said.

The man was described as a short, stalky man in his 40s with a reddish-gray beard. He was wearing glasses and a hat, troopers said.

The 16-year-old driver was cited for following to closely and a seat-belt violation, troopers said. She was assisted at the scene by the Hustontown (Pa.) Fire Department and emergency medical services.
