Frederick County clinics run out of flu shots

October 16, 2009

FREDERICK, Md. -- "Overwhelming attendance" at flu clinics in Frederick County on Friday exhausted the county's supply of injectable seasonal flu vaccine, the Frederick County Health Department said in a news release.

A clinic site at Urbana High School closed early, and flu shots were no longer available at clinics at Gov. Thomas Johnson and Brunswick high schools by 1 p.m., the release said.

The clinics at Thomas Johnson and Brunswick were still offering FluMist vaccine, but only to children 5 to 11 years old.

The health department is expecting additional seasonal flu vaccine shipments and will schedule clinics at that time, the release said.
