After-school celebration Oct. 22

Lights On Afterschool Celebration will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at the Boys & Girls Club of Washington County, 805 Pennsylvania Ave.

Arts Passport available in Frederick

FREDERICK, Md. - The Frederick Arts Council and local arts organizations are again sponsoring the Arts Passport. The Arts Passport provides an opportunity for individuals to attend four qualified Arts and Humanities events in Frederick County during the month of October and be registered to win prizes.

Each time participants visit a different activity or location, the organization will stamp the passport. Once completed, individuals send their completed passport to the Frederick Arts Council. Gift certificates and other prizes will be awarded in November.

Passports must be received by the arts council by Nov. 10.

Hedgesville photographer selected for wildlife exhibit

HEDGESVILLE, W.Va. - Wil Hershberger has been selected to exhibit at the 39th annual Waterfowl Festival in Easton, Md.

The festival will be Nov. 13 to 15. It features wildlife art in varied disciplines, including painting, carving, sculpture, photography and fine crafts. It also hosts displays by collectors of decoys, duck stamps and waterfowling memorabilia.
