Gerald E. Tucker, 57, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, while surrounded by his loving family. Born Nov. 6, 1951, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Captain Clyde B. Tucker and the late Florence Helen Hardy.

He was employed by Mack Trucks/Volvo Powertrain for 32 years and Eastalco Aluminum Co. for seven years. He was a member of Maranatha Brethren Church and most recently served as financial secretary.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Janice; two adoring sons, Chad E. Tucker of Fairfax, Va., and Scott A. Tucker of Hagerstown; his stepmother Freda E. Tucker of Boonsboro; and two brothers, C.W. Tucker of Boonsboro and Russell E. Tucker of Simpsonville, Ky.

He has donated his body to science. A memorial service will be Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 6:30 p.m at Maranatha Brethren Church, 19835 Scott Hill Drive, Hagerstown. The family will receive friends, beginning at 5 p.m. before and immediately following the service.
