FREDERICK, Md. -- Amanda Hall had 21 service points, eight aces and 13 kills to lead Grace Academy to a 24-26, 25-22, 22-25, 25-23, 15-10 win over New Life Christian in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference on Tuesday.

Jamie Shurnitski had 11 kills and 16 assists, and Lauren Serafini had nine kills and 16 assists for the Knights (10-4, 9-4).

McConnellsburg 3, Southern Fulton 2

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. -- A'leese Dickerson had 32 kills, 10 aces and 12 digs to lead McConnellsburg past Southern Fulton, 25-7, 25-15, 16-25, 18-25, 15-8.

Lisa DeShong had 45 assists and 18 digs, Emily Watkins had seven kills and 14 digs, Valerie Green had five kills and 18 digs and Courtney DeShong had nine aces and 15 digs for the Spartans (9-3).


Steph Iker had 21 service points, Alexis Knisely had four kills and Jenna Ritz had seven assists for the Indians (2-11).

CVCS 3, Mercersburg 1

MERCERSBURG, Pa. -- Abby Schwing had 16 assists, while Sarah Kolanowski added 11 kills, six digs and four aces for Mercersburg Academy in a 25-14, 25-19, 18-25, 25-22 loss to Cumberland Valley Christian School (7-10).

Brookke Mahaffey had six digs and five kills, and Vivi Hyarinthe added four blocks for the Blue Storm (2-6).

Musselman 3, Hedgesville 0

INWOOD, W.Va. -- Taylor Oates had 28 assists and Taylor Allen added 20 kills for Musselman, which swept Hedgesville (7-5), 25-18, 25-11, 25-17.

Sammie Deter had 10 digs and five aces, and Kortney Jenkins had eight kills and six aces for the Applemen (10-2).

Greencastle 3, Trinity 0

CAMP HILL, Pa. -- Erin Garns had 22 assists and seven digs as Greencastle-Antrim swept Trinity, 25-14, 25-19, 25-22.

Kelsey Gearhart had nine kills and 11 digs, Sammi Rudy had seven kills, 11 digs and three aces, Nakita Gearhart had six kills, Lauren Verhoef had five kills and three blocks and Katy Bobbitt added 11 digs for the Blue Devils (13-0).

Grace Academy 5, New Life 0

FREDERICK, Md. -- Luke Bunting had two goals and an assist as Grace Academy shut out New Life in the MDCC.

Patrick Salvagno had a goal and an assist, Andrew Michael and Nick Montoya each had a goal, Zack Morgan and Caleb Serafini each had an assist and Kenny Frederickson made eight saves for the Knights (16-1, 13-0).

Berlin 3, McConnellsburg 0

BERLIN, Pa. -- Zack Broadwater scored twice and Maxim Zaverulha added a goal for Berlin in a shutout victory over the Spartans (5-6-1).


Mercersburg 3, Hedgesville 0

MERCERSBURG, Pa. -- Ana Kelly scored two goals as Mercersburg Academy beat Hedgesville.

Laura Rahauser had a goal, Katie Cole had an assist and Jill Griswold recorded the shutout in goal for the Blue Storm (5-6).

Steiner finishes 17th

IJAMSVILLE, Md. -- Hagerstown's Tim Steiner, after sharing the first-round lead, skidded to a 14-over-par 86 on a windy afternoon Tuesday in the 10th annual Maryland State Golf Association Senior Open at Holly Hills Country Club.

Steiner, who plays out of Beaver Creek, had been in a tie with John Howson, of Towson Golf & Country Club, who went on to win the tournament with a 3-under 139 after a 70 on Tuesday. Both shot 69s on Monday. Howson won by 10 strokes.

Steiner, a 2006 Maryland Amateur champion, finished in a tie for 17th place at 155. Other area finishers included Fountain Head's Dick Roulette (61st, 165) and Beaver Creek's Denny Stoner (23rd, 156), Ira Pearlman (77th, 173) and Peter Wesp (81st, 176).


HCC baseball golf fundraiser

Hagerstown Community College will sponsor a pro-am golf outing Oct. 22 at Beaver Creek Country Club, with proceeds benefitting the HCC baseball team.

Each three-man team of amateurs will be paired with a professional in the two-ball gross and net format. The outing begins at 8 a.m., and the cost for amateur golfers is $85.
