PINESBURG - Miriam Viola Hoover Hose, 81, of Pinesburg, Md., went to be with the Lord, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009, at her home.

Born Feb. 24, 1928, in Clear Spring, Md., to the late Robert Leo and Catherine Louise Bowers Eichelberger.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Marshall Hoover, in 1974 and her second husband, Herman Edward "Pretzel" Hose, in 1994.

She was employed by GM Parts Distribution of Martinsburg, W.Va., until retiring in 1989.

She was a member of Pinesburg Baptist Church, Pinesburg, Md., where she played the organ for 30 years.

She was a member of UAW Local 1590 of Martinsburg, W.Va., and AARP.

Survivors include son, John W. Hoover and his wife Esther of Williamsport, Md.; son, Jack L. Hoover and his wife Cathy of Pinesburg, Md.; sister, Thelma Jane Naile of Clear Spring, Md.; granddaughter, Patricia Gerber and her husband Larry of Hagerstown, Md.; grandson, Jeffrey Hoover and his wife Tina of Greencastle, Pa.; grandson, Jason Hoover and his wife Katie of Clear Spring, Md.; grandson, Samuel Hoover of Williamsport, Md.; great-grandchildren, Alicen, Joshua, Abigail, Ella, Kendal, Erica and Kara.


She was predeceased by son, Robert E. Hoover; three sisters, Mildred M. Hoffman, Gladys V. Eichelberger and Ruth Stenger; and three brothers, John R. Eichelberger, Guy E. Eichelberger and Charles F. Eichelberger.

The family will receive friends at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Md., on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral home will be open after 1 p.m. on Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport, Md., on Wednesday, Oct. 14, 2009, at 11 a.m. with Pastor John Koontz Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park, Williamsport, Md.
