MARTINSBURG, W.VA. -- A Berkeley County man was in Eastern Regional Jail on Tuesday night, charged with robbing the ROCS convenience store off West King Street in Martinsburg with a pickax last month, according to jail and court records.
Andrew Charles Fletcher, 23, of 372 Henshaw Road, Bunker Hill, W.Va., was in jail on a $100,000 cash-only bond set Tuesday afternoon by Berkeley County Magistrate Harry L. Snow during an arraignment hearing, records indicate.
Fletcher is charged with armed robbery.
Police allege Fletcher took $149 in cash and a carton of Marlboro Menthol Light cigarettes with a value of $46.61 from the convenience store/gas station at 1619 W. King St. at about 3:30 a.m. on Sept. 23, according to a complaint by West Virginia State Police Trooper P.S. Kennedy.
A pickax was found in the back of a Dodge Ram truck that police allege Fletcher used as the getaway vehicle after he robbed the convenience store, according to the complaint.
