She was a loving mother and grandmother, always putting family first.
She was a 1938 graduate of Warfordsburg High School and served as class president.
She and her late husband operated a dairy farm.
She was a charter member of the Needmore Grange, served on the board of elections for Thompson Township and was a committee member of the Fulton County Republican Party.
She was a volunteer for many years for the American Cancer Society and many other charities.
She is survived by her son, Lowell Barnhart, husband of Lee Ann; and daughters, Laura Musselman, wife of Lee, and Lois Deneen, wife of Dale, all of Needmore, and Linda Covalt, wife of John of Hampstead, Md.; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mira Virgie Duvall, Myrtle Alice Akers and Velda Louella Barton; and three brothers, William Lum Duvall, Ralph Wilson Duvall and Percy Taft Duvall.
A service will be held Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Edward Blank will officiate. Burial will be in Oakley Cemetery, Needmore.
The family will receive friends at Warfordsburg Presbyterian Faith Center, Tuesday, Oct. 13, from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m.
