October 10, 2009

HAGERSTOWN -- A "Trick or Can" for the Community Food Bank will be held Friday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. in various neighborhoods in the area.

"Trick or Can" is an event where individuals ask for a nonperishable food item instead of the treats they receive during the traditional trick or treat.

Several area youths from various beliefs and backgrounds serve weekly at the food bank and have decided to "Trick or Can" to raise awareness of the food bank's needs and inspire others to do the same.

The food items will go to the Community Food Bank, which is in the basement of St. Mark's Lutheran Church at 601 Washington Ave. in Hagerstown.
