The Frushours

Clarence and Patty (Harp) Frushour celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 15, 2009.

Their son, Terry Frushour and Mrs. Frushour's sister, Mary Toms, surprised the couple with a dinner party attended by a family and friends at Myersville (Md.) Fire Co. Banquet Hall.

Mr. and Mrs. Frushour were married Aug. 16, 1959, at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Wolfsville, Md., by the Rev. C. Basil Grossnickle.

Mr. Frushour retired from Bruchey Builders Inc. in 2005, and Mrs. Frushour retired in 2005 from L.W. Wolfe Enterprises Inc.

They live in Myersville.

The Hesses

Mr. and Mrs. Ralph "Bud" Hess of Hagerstown celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Aug. 8, 2009, at Beaver Creek Country Club. The party was hosted by their sons, Brian and his wife, Marianne; and Doug and his wife, Joann.


The Hesses were married Aug. 8, 1959, at Trinity Lutheran Church by Dr. Wilson P. Ard, now deceased.

They have five grandchildren.

Mr. Hess was part owner of Hess Auto Body Works and is now retired. Mrs. Hess is a homemaker.

They were also honored at a dinner party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Brenton Baughman.

The Timmonses

Bob and Mary Timmons celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Sept. 27 by taking a weekend outing to Cumberland, Md., LaVale, Md., and Bedford, Pa. The week prior, they enjoyed an evening out with family at Flannery's in Mercersburg, Pa.

The Timmonses were married Sept. 27, 1969, by the Rev. Robert E. Timmons Sr., Mr. Timmons' father, and the Rev. Jonathan D. Laye, Mrs. Timmons' brother-in-law, at Mount Pleasant Church of God, now Clayton Memorial, near Mercersburg.

Mr. Timmons is the son of Mae A. Timmons of Clear Spring and the late Rev. Robert E. Timmons Sr.

Mrs. Timmons is the daughter of the late Harold J. and Bessie "Marie" Stoner.

Mr. Timmons served in the U.S. Marine Corps and retired in 1990 with 22 1/2 years of service. He is employed by Mercersburg Builders Supply.

Mrs. Timmons is employed by The Herald-Mail Co.

The couple has two sons, Robert E. Timmons III of Hagerstown and Chad E. Timmons of Mercersburg. They also have two grandsons.
