MAUGANSVILLE - Goldie Belle Lorshbaugh Metz, 88, of Maugansville, passed away Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at Julia Manor Health Care Center.
Born April 26, 1921, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Gladys (Stover) Stains.
She was a member of Faith Temple in Hagerstown.
She worked as a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph L. Lorshbaugh, in March 1977.
Goldie is survived by two sons, Ronald L. Lorshbaugh and wife, Lynda, of Falling Waters, W.Va., and Michael W. Lorshbaugh of Maugansville; a daughter, Kimberly Eyler and husband, David, of Hagerstown; a sister, Eileen Stauffer of Waynesboro, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Kelli Shrader, Trudy Scott, Mark Hoffman, Michael W. Lorshbaugh Jr., Stacey Kelch, Rodney Lorshbaugh and Bobby Long; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Louise Lorshbaugh White; three brothers, Lloyd, Ray and Glenn Stains; two sisters, Marie Beard and June DeBiase; and one grandson, Raymond McCarney.
