World War II Weekend



WILLIAMSPORT -- Today's activities include 7 to 9 a.m. pancake breakfast, $5; 11 a.m. Salute to Soldiers Parade through Byron Memorial Park and downtown Williamsport; 1:30 p.m. patriotic concert by Blue & Gray Men's Chorus; 2:30 p.m. recognition ceremony for military members; 7 p.m. USO dance with Jump Alley, $5. Sunday's events include 10:30 a.m. World War II-style worship service; 1 p.m. World War II model airplane contest; 2 p.m. Williamsport Community Band concert featuring Williamsport resident Tech. Sgt. David Dell.

Concert features violin soloist Elena Urioste, who will play Samuel Barber's Violin Concerto. The concert will also include Tomas Svoboda's "Overture for the Season" and Antonin Dvorak's Sixth Symphony. 8 p.m. today and 3 p.m. Sunday. The Maryland Theatre, 21 S. Potomac St., Hagerstown. Tickets cost $22 to $49 for adults; $12 to $25 for ages 12 and younger and for full-time students. Student rush tickets are available first-come, first-served at the theater box office 90 minutes before the performance for $5.

Harvest Hoedown
