Pumpkin Patch in Frederick, Md.

Frederick, Md. - The Great Pumpkin Patch is at Old National Pike District Park from 12:30 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, Sunday, Oct. 11.

Admission costs $5 per person, and includes an all-inclusive day pass for a hayride, inflatables, face painting, a rock climbing wall, petting zoo, pony rides, pumpkin decorating and more. Bring your best candy-collecting bag and take a walk down the Trick or Treat Trail to meet and greet superhero, cartoon and movie characters. There will also be a concession area.

For a fee, you will be able to pick your own pumpkin. The first 500 kids ages 2 to 12 who enter the park each day, will receive a free pumpkin. This event is for all ages, but a paying adult must accompany participants younger than 16.

Starting points events

BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. - Parents and caregivers of children ages birth to five years old can come with their children to Morgan County Starting Points for free play groups. The groups meet from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays, and 12:30 to 2 p.m. Thursdays, adults and children can play, share experience, have a snack and receive support from a facilitator.


Parenting tips, kindergarten readiness, child development, nutrition and health information are offered. Children have a chance to play in a safe setting, and adults have a chance to be with other adults in a child-friendly atmosphere.

Family Reading Nights are 6:30 to 8 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at Starting Points. Families receive a dinner, listen to a guest reader for story time and take a book home. The next gathering will be Oct. 13. Reservations will be accepted.
