HAGERSTOWN - Richard L. Kline, 82, of Hagerstown, Md., went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, surrounded by his family.

Born May 4, 1927, he was the son of the late Robert Lewis Kline and Mildred Fogle Kline.

He was honorably discharged from the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Funkstown, a life member of Hagerstown Elks Club No. 378, a life member of the Alsatia Club Inc., a member of Red Men Tribe No. 84 and a member of the American Legion Post No. 211.

He was service manager for Massey Ford for 26 years. He was employed by Hess Auto Body until he retired. He again retired as a courier for Hagerstown Trust Co.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ravenna Lee Winters, Kline; son, Richard Lee Kline and wife Nancy of Mechanicsburg, Pa; daughter, Karen R. Luther and husband, William R. Luther Jr. of Hagerstown, and daughter, Robin Lynne Brown and husband Ronald of Williamsport. In addition, he is survived by grandchildren Terra Lynne Crawford of Hagerstown, Erin Leigh Kline of Australia, Meghan Leigh Jenkins of Martinsburg, William R. Luther III of Hagerstown, Justin Edward Moore of Williamsport and Hayleigh Lynne Brown of Williamsport. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Logan Michael Jenkins and Alexis Nicole Jenkins of Martinsburg. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda June Kline Spessard.

Please join the family for a celebration of his life service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Funkstown, Md., on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 2 p.m. with the Pastor Mike Louia.
