Homemakers award 24 scholarships

BOONSBORO - The Washington County Homemakers held a reception Aug. 14 at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Boonsboro for this year's 24 scholarship recipients and their parents.

The Homemakers conducted its seventh annual scholarship auction in the spring which provided funds for these scholarships.

Scholarships to Hagerstown Community College have been awarded to Shane Ganley, Roger Grimm, Brandon Mauck, Kayla Reynolds and Ryan Stottlemyer. Additional scholarship recipients are Jarrett Myers (the University of Maryland), Regan Kline, Theresa Mills and Ashley Rector (Frostburg State University), Kayla Semler (Salisbury University), Heidi Foster (Shepherd University), Ryan Wetzel (West Virginia University), Hannah Ott and Megan Weber (Virginia Tech University), Courtney Wood (University of Arizona), Phillip Clarke (University of Delaware), Kathleen Prather (Liberty University), Taylor Lawyer (Frederick Community College), Ryan Miller (Community College of Allegany County), Ashley Lemley (Montgomery Community College), Kathryn Haupt (Virginia Intermount College), Letizia Schiano-DiCola (Luzerne County Community College), Aaron Mills (Lebanon Valley College) and Lynn Collison (Moore College of Art & Design).

The Washington County Homemakers began in 1917 and is one of the oldest nonprofit service organizations in Washington County.
