October 02, 2009

Ten Thousand Villages in Hagerstown will donate 15 percent of sales to Breast Cancer Awareness-Cumberland Valley on Saturday, Oct. 10, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"The purchase of a unique handcrafted gift from Ten Thousand Villages will not only support local breast cancer early detection awareness and support, but will improve the livelihoods of women artisans in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East," said Naomi Byler, Ten Thousand Villages store manager.

Breast Cancer Awareness-Cumberland Valley is an independent nonprofit agency that provides free early detection programs, education programs and patient support in this area.

Guests are encouraged to wear pink to show their support at the Oct. 10 event.

The store is at 13625 Pennsylvania Ave., just north of the intersection with Longmeadow Road
