Rummage sale



Emmanuel United Methodist Church, at 802 Summit Ave. in Hagerstown, will host a fall rummage sale Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Sandwiches, soups and baked goods will also be available for purchase. You can eat in or carry out.

Yard and bake sale



A yard and bake sale will be held at Grace United Methodist Church Saturday, Oct. 10, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Octoberfest event will be in Rider Fellowship Hall. The church is at 712 Church St., on the corner of Church and Winter streets in Hagerstown.

The event will feature craft tables with centerpieces, and lots of fall and Christmas items.

Apple dumplings, homemade candies and homemade apple butter will be sold. The lunch menu includes country ham sandwiches, $3 each; tenderloin sandwiches, $3; hot dogs, $1; homemade vegetable and ham and bean soup, $2 per bowl or $4 per quart.

Showcase of Bands



The annual Showcase of Marching Bands will be held Tuesday, Oct. 13, at 7:30 p.m. at School Stadium on the campus of South Hagerstown High School. Gates open at 6:15 p.m. Contact your local school or band boosters organization to purchase tickets in advance.

Nonrefundable ticket donation is $4 in advance and $5 at the gate. Senior Citizen Gold Cards will be honored.

The rain date is Oct. 20.

Harvest Hoedown



The Harvest Hoedown will be Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Byron Memorial Park in Williamsport.

The event will include scarecrow making, pumpkin painting, games for children and other activities.

There will be live music, a silent auction and food for sale.

Fall festival



A fall festival will be held Saturday, Oct. 17 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Valley Mall.

The event will include games and crafts for those ages 8 and younger.

Children can decorate pumpkins, play fish bowl toss, bean bag toss, dig for lizards and mini golf. Prizes will be awarded to winners of events.
