Kiwanis Club's Rose Day set for Oct. 29

September 30, 2009

For more than 50 years, the Kiwanis Club of Hagerstown's Rose Day has been an autumn tradition. This year, Rose Day is Thursday, Oct. 29.

The event is the club's major fundraiser for its foundation programs that support the youth of Washington County.

High-quality, long- stemmed roses are available by the dozen, in red, yellow, pink and salmon.

The cost of the roses is $18 before Rose Day or $20 at various locations on Rose Day. Roses may be ordered and arrangements made for delivery by visiting the Kiwanis Club Web site at www.hagerstownkiwanis.org, by calling 301-739-1129 or by contacting a member of the Hagerstown Kiwanis Club.

All proceeds from Kiwanis Club Rose Day support area youth through organizations such as the Boys & Girls Club; Girls, Inc.; The Salvation Army; Children's Village of Washington County; local high school Key Clubs, as well as annual Kiwanis Club scholarships to deserving high school seniors.
