Fire at abandoned Martinsburg farm house investigated

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- A fire Wednesday night in an abandoned two-story farm house on Old Mill Road is under investigation, the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.

The fire at 200 Old Mill Road was reported at about 9:12 p.m. Units from the Martinsburg and Hedgesville fire departments responded to the scene, the release said.

The cause of the fire was unknown. A passerby told deputies that someone was seen running southbound from the area, the release said.

License plate stolen in Ayr Township

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania license plate was removed from a wooden trailer in the 19000 block of Great Cove Road in Ayr Township in Fulton County, according to the Pennsylvania State Police.

The theft occurred between Sept. 22 and Tuesday, state police said in a press release.

Pavilion damaged on Greencastle school property

GREENCASTLE, Pa. -- A pavilion was damaged on the Greencastle-Antrim School District property off Leitersburg Street, Pennsylvania State Police said in a press release Wednesday.

The criminal mischief incident occurred overnight between Monday and Tuesday, the release said.
