Demers, Warriors sweep past Rebels

BOONSBORO -- Rebecca Demers had 32 assists and seven digs as Boonsboro swept South Hagerstown 25-14, 26-24, 25-23 in an MVAL Antietam match Tuesday.

Alison Griffith had 10 kills and 21 digs, Cortney Silvis had 11 kills, Jessica Mazelon had eight kills and two blocks, and Tiffany Rohrer added seven digs for the Warriors (3-4, 1-1).

Morgan McCoy had five kills for the Rebels (3-4, 0-2).

JV: Boonsboro 2-0.

North Hagerstown 3, Brunswick 0

BRUNSWICK, Md. -- Megan Plume had 19 assists to lead the Hubs to a 25-20, 25-4, 25-15 sweep of the Railroaders.

Autumn Fisher had nine kills and Akilah McCall added eight kills for North (7-0).

Clear Spring 3, Catoctin 0

CATOCTIN, Md. -- Lily Pinkham had 10 kills and four blocks as the Blazers swept the Cougars, 25-18, 25-19, 25-13.

Lindsay Lacy had 10 kills, Megan Micco had 30 assists and Damara McDonough served three aces for Clear Spring (5-1).

Broadfording 3, New Life 0

Hannah Young had 12 kills, 15 digs and three aces as Broadfording swept New Life 25-14, 25-16, 25-19 in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference.

Rebecca Adams had 21 assists and seven aces, Charlotte Worsfold had five kills and Danielle Dubois had 25 digs for the Lions (13-0, 11-0).

Heritage 3, Calvary 0

Kara Stamper had 10 kills and two blocks to lead Heritage Academy to a 25-13, 25-23, 25-17 sweep of Calvary Christian in the MDCC.

Callie Butts had 25 assists and three aces, Brianna Dorsey had five digs and Rachel Clarke had five kills and three blocks for the Eagles (10-1, 9-1).

Grace Academy 3, Shalom 2

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- The Knights rallied from a 2-1 deficit to defeat the Flames 22-25, 25-18, 18-25, 25-22, 15-11 in the MDCC.

Lauren Serafini had 10 kills and nine assists, Amanda Hall had 10 aces and five kills, and Erica Null added seven aces, six kills and 13 digs for Grace (7-3, 6-3).

Juliana Mowen had 17 kills, Ashlyn Blank had 10 kills and Natasha Gibble had 36 assists for Shalom (7-5, 6-5).

Washington 3, Goretti 1

Courtney Thompson had 12 kills and six aces for the Gaels in a 25-18, 25-21, 19-25, 25-18 loss to the Patriots.

Sarah Swope had eight kills and three aces, while Jean Hogan had 23 assists for Goretti (2-10).

MERCERSBURG, Pa. -- The Blue Devils remained undefeated in best-of-5 matches while handing the Rockets (6-1) their first loss, 25-20, 25-16, 25-19.

Erin Garns had 34 assists and three aces, Kelsey Gearhart had 12 kills, Sami Rudy had 10 kills and five aces, and Nakita Gearhart added five kills, four blocks and four aces for Greencastle (7-0).

Chestnut Ridge 3, McConnellsburg 0

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. -- The Spartans dropped their first best-of-5 match of the year, falling 25-17, 25-18, 25-23 to Chestnut Ridge in the Sideling Hill League.

A'leese Dickerson had 17 kills and eight digs, Lisa DeShong had 25 assists and nine digs, Emily Watkins had 12 digs and four kills, Jessica Nero had 21 digs, Valerie Green had seven digs and three kills, and Andrea Conover added seven digs for McConnellsburg (5-1, 4-1).

Hyndman 3, Southern Fulton 0

HYNDMAN, Pa. -- The Indians were swept in their Sideling Hill League match against Hyndman, 25-16, 25-14, 25-15.

Alexis Knisley had five aces and four kills, Rachel Norris had eight digs and Cierra Covalt had seven assists for Southern Fulton (1-6, 0-6).

Williamsport 2, Boonsboro 0

BOONSBORO -- Jordan Payne scored and had an assist as the Wildcats shut out the Warriors (0-8. 0-2) in the MVAL Antietam.

Jon Adams had a goal, Bryan Whitmore had an assist and Alex Aleshire made four saves for his sixth shutout of the season for Williamsport (4-3-2, 1-0).

North Hagerstown 2, Brunswick 0

Alex Henry and Dino Gilmanov each scored as the Hubs won their fourth straight.

Nelson Moreno and Frederick Owusu-Ayim each had an assist for North (6-3), which outshot Brunswick, 20-4.

JV: North Hagerstown, 6-1.

South Hagerstown 2, Smithsburg 1

Ben Stone had a goal and an assist to lead South Hagerstown to an MVAL Antietam victory over Smithsburg.

Stone assisted on Matt Suddith's goal and scored the game-winner on a pass from Zack Smith. Will Carroll made nine saves for the Rebels (6-3, 2-0).

Alex Brown scored a goal and Dan Gillen made eight saves for the Leopards (0-9, 0-1).

Grace Academy 3, Shalom 0

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. -- Zack Morgan, Andrew Michael and Pat Salvagno each scored a goal to lead the Knights past the Flames in the MDCC.

Luke Bunting and Spencer Horst each had an assist for Grace (12-1, 9-0), while Kenny Frederickson made seven saves for the shutout.

Ethan Crider had 10 saves for Shalom (1-9-2, 1-8-2).

Broadfording 6, New Life 3

Andy Torres had two goals and an assist, and Brian Stocker added two goals as the Lions defeated New Life in the MDCC.

Andrew Wyand had a goal and an assist, Gabe Hirsch scored a goal and Jordan Whitt, Steven Torres and Michael Torres each had an assist for Broadfording (12-2, 10-1).
