Legion Post, Auxiliary to honor Ecton, Knight

The American Legion Post and Unit 236 of Sharpsburg will honor Brigitte Ecton and Willie Knight, whose sons gave the ultimate sacrifice during their service in the military.

The Auxiliary motto for 2009 (and the title of the Memorial Day float last year) is "All Gave Some and Some Gave All." Gold Star Mothers' Day is Sept. 27 this year. Since World War I, a small white flag with a red border and a gold star inside is placed in windows to recognize the mothers who have lost a child in war. Post and Unit 236 thank them and their loved ones.
