WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Mrs. Nancy F. (Capuano) Dukehart, 71, of 27 N. Church St., Waynesboro, Pa., entered into eternal rest at 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2009, at her home.

Born Aug. 12, 1938, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Margaret (Weber) Capuano. She spent her early life in Baltimore until moving to Waynesboro in 1950.

Mrs. Dukehart was a graduate of St. Joseph's High School, Emmitsburg, Md., with the class of 1956. She later attended Fordham University in Bronx, N.Y.


She and her husband of almost 50 years, Mr. James R. Dukehart, were married Oct. 17, 1959, in Waynesboro. They had lived at their present residence since 1965.

Mrs. Dukehart was a homemaker, having worked at Nevin's Drug Store for several years.

She was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and an active volunteer with the Antietam Humane Society, both of Waynesboro.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Mary P. Dukehart of Waynesboro, James A. Dukehart and his wife, Crystal, of Waynesboro and Patricia L. St. Laurent and her husband, Timothy, of Saunderstown, R.I.; three grandchildren, Ryan, Nicholas and Katie St. Laurent; and her brother, Anthony W. Capuano and his wife, Anne, of Ocean City, Md.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, 2009, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro, with the Rev. John Bateman as celebrant.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, where a Rosary service will be recited at 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, Franklin & Fulton County Unit, 384 Floral Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
