Home Health Care celebrates 25 years

Home Health Care of Washington County Hospital recently celebrated its 25th anniversary by hosting an open house at its Howell Road location.

Among those attending the event were Washington County Commissioners President John F. Barr; Sondra Funk, a representative for state Sen. Donald F. Munson; and Robin Summerfield, field representative for U.S. Sen. Benjamin Cardin.

Also attending were Julianna Albowicz, special assistant to U.S. Sen. Barbara Mikulski, who presented a proclamation to the agency; and Hagerstown City Administrator Bruce Zimmerman, who presented a proclamation from the City of Hagerstown.

Home Health Care offers a variety of in-home services and resources to help clients remain independent and safe in the comfort of their own homes.

Home Health Care has cared for more than 31,500 patients in its 25 years of service, and has more than 50 employees in a variety of clinical areas, including nursing, physical therapy, medical social work, occupational therapy and speech pathology.

Home Health Care is accredited by The Joint Commission, is certified by both Medicare and Medicaid, and received the 2008 HomeCare Elite award of excellence.
