MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Police were looking for a man who was armed with a pickax early Wednesday when he robbed the ROCS convenience store off West King Street in Martinsburg.
West Virginia State Police Trooper P.S. Kennedy responded to 1619 W. King St. at 3:32 a.m. to investigate the armed robbery, according to a news release from 1st Sgt. E.D. Burnett.
The suspect took an undetermined amount of money and a carton of cigarettes that he demanded from a store clerk before he ran outside toward the back of the store, according to Burnett's release. Â
Video surveillance revealed the robber as a white male, wearing khaki shorts, with a tattoo on the left side of his leg, according to Burnett.Â
