September 21, 2009

Western Maryland Homeschool Association will sponsor a series of science classes and labs for middle school- and high school-aged homeschool students.

Earlene Sorrells, association director, will be the instructor.

Classes will be held Mondays beginning Oct. 5 and will run through Nov. 16 from 11 a.m. to noon at her home at 7864 Fairplay Road in Fairplay.

The cost is $65 per student for the seven classes and labs, which includes everything needed for the student to use except pens, pencils and paper.

She hopes to offer another set of science classes after the first is completed.

Classes will include discussions about flower forensics, diffusion and osmosis, acid rain and buffers, pollution investigation and pH testing.

For more information, e-mail westernmarylandhomeschool@hotmail.com by Wednesday and send payment to her at 7864 Fairplay Road, Fairplay, MD 21733.

Payment must be received by Thursday to reserve a place in the classes.
