Ruth Elaine Means-Grove, 64, of Hagerstown, Md., died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2009, at the University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, Md.

Born Aug. 7, 1945, in Fairmont, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late William and Eva Hunter Doolittle.

She was a 1963 graduate of West Fairmont High School and a 1967 graduate of West Virginia University with a bachelor of science degree in medical technology. She was a member of Gamma Phi Beta sorority.

She was a real estate agent with Long and Foster, Hagerstown.

She was a member of Williamsport United Methodist Church. She was active in the Shawl Ministry for several years.

She was a member of the Potomac Fish and Game Club Auxiliary of Williamsport and Red Feather Council 59 Degree of Pocahontas of Williamsport.

She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family and friends at the river.

Survivors include her husband, Dennis W. Grove of Hagerstown, whom she married Nov. 1, 1986; daughter, April Elaine Cunningham and her husband, Edward, of Hagerstown; two stepsons, Dennis "Beau" Grove and his wife, Dana, of Williamsport, and Jeremy A. Grove and his wife, Leslie, of Greencastle, Pa.; brother, Johnny Bill Doolittle; five grandchildren; a niece; a nephew; and her special cat, Mouzer.

A memorial service will be at Osborne Funeral Home, 425 S. Conococheague St., Williamsport on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Susan E. Boehl officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the memorial service on Tuesday from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral home will be open after 9 a.m. Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
