Mrs. Stella Irene (Hose) Sacrey, 88, of 114 Harrison Ave., Waynesboro, Pa., entered into eternal rest at 4:55 a.m. Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, in her home.

She was born May 3, 1921, in Williamsport, Md.; she was the daughter of the late Earl F. and Hazel I. (Sharer) Hose. She lived her early life in Williamsport.

Mrs. Sacrey attended the Williamsport schools.

She and her late husband, Mr. James E. "Ed" Sacrey Sr., were married on Dec. 2, 1941, in Hagerstown, Md. They moved to the present residence following marriage. Mr. Sacrey died Feb. 4, 2002.


Mrs. Sacrey was a homemaker most of her life, and was a sales representative for Avon products.

She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Waynesboro and the national AARP.

She enjoyed art painting, reading, crocheting and camping.

She is survived by four daughters, Jean I. Smith, Carolyn A. Smith, Treva M. Wolff and Sherry L. Rowe, all of Waynesboro; one son, James E. Sacrey Jr. of Waynesboro; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Henrietta M. Weller of Hancock, Md.; four brothers, Paul D. Hose Sr. of Clear Spring, Md., Alvey T. Hose Sr. of Williamsport, Md., Clyde L. Hose of Melbourne Beach, Fla., and Harry H. Hose of Halfway, Md.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Jane L. Sacrey and Linda C. Sacrey, and one brother, Sylvester F. Hose.

Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009, at Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St, Waynesboro with Pastor Mark Shover and Pastor John Rauch officiating. Burial will be in Burns Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

Family will receive friends one before services at the funeral home.
