The McGargles



Harry W. and Elver McGargle of Hagerstown celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on Friday, Aug. 28.

Mr. McGargle was a carpenter, and Mr. McGargle was a homemaker.

They have one daughter, Dorothy Weaver, and one son, Bill McGargle.

The McGargles have four grandsons; one granddaughter; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

The Cloppers



Kenny and Barbara Clopper of Clear Spring celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, Sept. 12.

The couple had a family celebratory dinner earlier this summer while their daughters were visiting from Texas. Their children are Lonnie Long and husband Wes of Dripping Springs, Texas; Patty Long and husband Russell of Houston; and Bob Clopper and wife Charlotte of Harrisonburg, Va. They also have six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mr. Clopper joined the Air Force in 1959. For the next 40 years, the Cloppers' travels took them around the world. They returned to the Clear Spring area in 1997.

The Cloppers are members of the Clear Spring District Historical Association and St. Paul's Reformed Church.

The Groves



Brenda and Michael Grove of Boonsboro celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in Orlando, Fla., along with their children, at Walt Disney World.

The Groves were married by the Rev. Harry Angle, now deceased, May 19, 1984, at Boonsboro Bible Church.

They have three daughters, Carissa, Michaela and Adrienne.
