Grace tops Martinsburg

Luke Bunting had a goal and an assist as Grace Academy beat Martinsburg 3-1 on Friday.

Daniel Frederickson and Zack Morgan each scored, Andy Michael and Pat Salvagno each had an assist and Kenny Frederickson had 11 saves for the Knights (9-1).

Aaron Anderson scored on an assist from Adam Mauck, while Ryan Springer had 10 saves for the Bulldogs (3-6).

Broadfording 12, Calvary 2

CRESAPTOWN, Md. -- Andy Torres had three goals and three assists to lead Broadfording over Calvary in the Mason Dixon Christian Conference.

Andrew Wyand and Bryan Stocker had two goals each, Michael Torres had two goals and an assist, Stephen Torres and Jordan Whitt each had a goal and an assist, Gabe Hirsch, Cameron Crutchfield and Justin Haldeman each had an assist and Ryan Haldeman also scored for the Lions (9-1).

Landon School 30, Mercersburg Academy 6

BETHESDA, Md. -- Andrew Wills scored on runs of 5 and 6 yards as Landon School routed Mercersburg Academy.

Simeon Daniels had one catch for 33 yards, David Erickson had two catches for 20 yards, Paul Suhey was 7-for-15 for 34 yards and rushed for 20 yards on eight carries, Charles Thompson rushed for 34 yards on 10 carries, Troy Harrison rushed for 44 yards on six carries and Tucker Coil completed two passes for 18 yards and scored on a 6-yard run for the Blue Storm (1-1).

Other scores: Frankfort 50, Berkeley Springs 7; James Wood 43, Hedgesville 0; Hershey 44, Waynesboro 14.

Broadfording 3, Calvary 0

CRESAPTOWN, Md. -- Hannah Young had 15 kills and three aces as Broadfording swept Calvary 25-14, 25-16, 25-15 in the MDCC.

Becca Adams had 17 assists and Chelsea Foltz added seven kills and three aces for the Lions (9-0, 8-0).

Shalom Christian 3, Faith Christian 2

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. -- Juliana Mowen had 17 kills and 31 digs as Shalom beat Faith 25-23, 25-22, 25-22, 25-20, 15-5.

Natasha Gibble had 34 assists, 17 digs, six kills and 11 aces, Tasha Lentz had 17 digs and six kills, Stacey Thrush had seven aces and Ashlyn Blank had seven kills and three aces for the Flames (6-2, 6-2).

WAYNESBORO, Pa. -- Carla Plummer had 24 saves but Waynesboro (0-7) was shut out by West Perry.

HCC 5, Cecil 0

Chris Lambert had a goal and an assist to lead the Hawks to a Maryland JuCo victory.

Alex Manea, Roland Wilson, Josh Edwards and Michael Rohr each had a goal, while Cody Butts, Edwin Reyes and Fracesco Scotto di Carlo each added an assist for HCC (3-2-1).

WOMEN'S SOCCER



Hood College 3, College of Notre Dame 0

FREDERICK, Md. -- Hood junior Cara Jordan, a Smithsburg graduate, became the Blazers' all-time assists leader with her 15th in Thursday's victory.

Jordan also scored her team-leading fifth goal this season. Freshman Kristen Byers, a Boonsboro graduate, scored her first collegiate goal, and Kirsten Cacciola, a Smithsburg graduate, saved the only Notre Dame shot on goal.
