Stella Lucille Valentine, 97, ofÂ Hagerstown, formerly of Boonsboro, went to be with the lord on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2009Â at Coffman Nursing Home in Hagerstown.Â

Born Aug. 7, 1912, in McGaheysville, Va., she was the daughter of the late William H. and Amanda J. (Life) Bush.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and the West End Senior Citizens.

Preceded in death by her husband, Carl William Valentine, Stella is survived by three daughters, Phyllis Spurgin of Hanahan, S.C., Delores Huffer and husband Delbert of Boonsboro, Gloria Everitt and husband Ernest of Hagerstown; one son, Jacob Valentine and wife Joan of Hagerstown; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Vernon W. Valentine; a granddaughter, Lucy Valentine; a great-granddaughter, Lauren Valentine; three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19Â at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave. Hagerstown,Â with Rev. Clark D. Carr officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church, 712 Church St., Hagerstown, MD 21740 or Coffman Nursing Home Activity Fund, 1304 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
