Marie Delphia Newlin Plante, 100, a resident of Williamsport Nursing Home and formerly of Lakeside Drive, Hagerstown, Md., died Monday, Sept. 14, 2009, at Williamsport Nursing Home, Williamsport, Md.
Born June 22, 1909, in Baltimore, Md., she was the daughter of the late Lester Thomas and Molly McInturff Clem.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Enoch Washington Newlin, in 1958.
She was a homemaker.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She previously belonged to a bowling league.
Marie loved flowers, gardening and reading her Bible each night, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary E. Forrest and her husband, Phillip, of Smithsburg, Md., and Olivia V. Shank-Miller and her husband, Roger, of Clear Spring, Md.; four sons, Enoch L. Newlin and his wife, Wanda, of Waynesboro, Pa., William D. Newlin and his wife, Barbara, of Fairfield, Pa., Victor L. Newlin and his wife, Linda, of Hagerstown, and Donald W. Newlin and his wife, Pat, of Falling Waters, W.Va.; 22 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
